The EZ Squeezer
The CTI EZ Squeezer is a prototype under development utilizing mechanical advantage to assist in squeezing a bottle of any shape up to a diameter of 6 inches. The device uses a retractable ratcheting belt which wraps around the bottle and tightens by a factor of 2 as the user gently squeezes the handle. Simultaneously, the handle presses in on the bottle to increase the efficiency of the users input by an additional factor. The strap is similar to a seat belt which can be extended and retracts back automatically.
The original goal was to assist experienced woodworkers who suffer from arthritis and need to squeeze glue bottles frequently. This is still the fundamental use for the product but extends to any plastic squeeze bottle, for any customer.

The EZ Squeezer is a small versatile and ergonomic tool that has a place in any room of the house.

In the articulated position, the rachet is driven and tightens around the bottle.

The EZ Squeezer is small enough to fit in a personal bag.

Below is a tension spring (not seen in CAD) which resets the tool handle after use.

Inset at the bottom of the drum gear is a spring which retracts the strap back around the drum once extended.

Using the tool is simple and only requires the user to extend the strap around the bottle and then gently squeeze to activate.
how it works
The EZ squeezer uses leverage and a simultaneous ratcheting system to provide a mechanically assisted squeezing action for the user. As the lever is depressed, the rachet tightens on the band that will be installed around the front (not seen in the CAD). The alleviates the stress applied to the users hand joints which provides relief from arthritic pain.
